The usual sequence is months of specification, a proposal, a build, and then the first time anyone uses it they find the real problem was slightly different. The cost of that discovery lands at the end, when changing it is most expensive. It is rarely anyone's fault: a document is simply a poor way to find out whether software fits the way people actually work.
How we work on this
Prototype first, then the build you approved.
You describe the workflow the way you would to a colleague. Two to three hours later you have something on screen to click, test and break. You tell us what is wrong, we change it, and you decide. Only then does the production build start, fixed in scope and price, against one agreed success measure. We would rather cut scope than extend a timeline.

What does the first prototype cost?
Nothing, and neither does the conversation before it. You pay only when you approve the prototype and we build the production application.
What is the 7-Day Build?
Once you approve a prototype, the production application is built to a fixed scope and a fixed price against one agreed success measure, within seven days. Larger scopes are split so that no single build runs longer.
Do we own the code?
You own your data and the outputs. Ownership of anything built specifically for you is written into the agreement before work starts, and for anything beyond a pilot we will discuss source escrow.
You are a young company. Why take the risk?
Weigh it honestly. You get the founder on your problem rather than a delivery team three layers down, and a scope small enough that being wrong is cheap. What you do not get is a track record.
